This was not the first cigarette rolling paper packet to be illustrated.
There were many packets done before this date with sketches or quick drawings.
This is the first signed and dated packet.
This may lead one to believe that a “serious” project had begun.

Many packets from 1981 are similar in design to comic strips or polyptychs.
Interesting fact: there are already a self-portrait, an animal and a very long title.
(I may have considered myself something of a poet).

Ce n’est pas le premier carnet à recevoir une image.
Il y a eu plusieurs carnets avant cette date avec des croquis ou des dessins rapides.
C’est le premier carnet signé et daté.
Cela laisserait croire à un certain sérieux au sujet du « projet ».

Plusieurs carnets en 1981 ressemblent à des bandes dessinées ou des polyptyques.
Fait à noter : il y a déjà un autoportrait, un animal et un très long titre
(je me croyais aussi poète).
